"White Out Cancer" while helping the Hope Express.
The Hope Express is a 135-mile run created to bridge the gap between the families on the 7th floor at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA and the Dancers at the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (aka THON), a year round fundraising event benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund, Conquering Childhood Cancer.
Runners will depart from the Hershey Medical Center on their journey to Penn State University and the Bryce Jordan Center. Runners will carry a bag of letters from Four Diamonds Family’s, expressing their gratitude to the students at Penn State and THON who support the Four Diamonds Fund. The goal of the snowflakes is not only to fundraise for the kids, but also to raise awareness of the Hope Express.
This year the Hope Express is hosting a mini, friendly competition of snowflake sales between alumni chapters. You can purchase a snowflake for $1 that will be in the Montgomery County Chapter name at http://www.give2theexpress.org/montgomery-county-alumni-chapter/montgomery-county-virtual-snowflakes-1/. All the snowflakes sold will be hung at the hospital and/or along the route so the runners know they have the support of alumni as they are on their 135-mile journey in the middle of winter from Hershey to THON, all to raise money for the kids!! After THON weekend, the chapter with the most snowflakes sold will be announced in an effort to White Out Cancer!!
