The 2008 Liberty Ball – A Knight for the Kids
February 2, 2008 at the Down Town Club in Philadelphia
Each year, The Philadelphia Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group host a special evening of first-class dinner, dancing and – most importantly – philanthropy. The Liberty Ball is an opportunity for Penn State alumni and friends to gather in support of the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, The Penn State Dance Marathon (THON™). Last year alone, THON™ raised more than $5.2 million for the Four Diamonds Fund, supporting its mission to conquer childhood cancer. Philadelphia-area alumni are proud to play a role in what has become one of Penn State's greatest and most unifying traditions.
The Liberty Ball promises to be an evening of elegance and enchantment complete with delicious three-course dinner, open bar cocktail hour, phenomenal entertainment, and Penn State fun. Inspired by the Four Diamonds Fund and Christopher Millard's magnificent story of the Knight's quest for the four diamonds: courage, wisdom, honesty, and strength, the 2008 Liberty Ball proudly joins the fight against cancer. For the kids.
All proceeds from ticket sales, the silent auction, and donations large and small will be contributed directly to THON. Please join us on February 2, 2008 at the Down Town Club in Philadelphia. Black tie optional.
